Connecting the dots…

1. Snow will not ruin my weekend plans because those include sitting in bed writing, reading and eating cake.  And catching up on TV shows I missed.

2. I missed Burn Notice again last night…and Celebrity Rehab.  And the Real Housewives of Orange County.  And Grey’s.  Falling asleep will do that.

3. Jaci Burton has a new book out this week.

4.  If Jaci Burton lived closer, I would give her this cake.

5.  This cake was made by a good friend of mine.  I get to eat the samples – they are good.

6.  Cake totally helps with revisions.  This is a proven fact.

Wow! That’s a really cool cake! Am I looking at it right? The top is a skull with roses in the eye sockets, right?

    • Stephanie Tyler says:

Yep, that’s exactly what it is! I have a small picture of it head on of just the top…I just can download it for some reason…

    Uhhh…DVR?

I mean I love love love Celebrity Rehab – but it is impossible to watch without DVR to speed through all the “coming up next” things they show over and over. Plus sometimes I have to rewind to catch Dr. Drew’s fabulous calm facial expressions when the celebs tell him really disturbing things. I am practicing those expressions at work when my staff tell me things I don’t want to hear. ;-)

    • Stephanie Tyler says:

LOL Samantha – I know, I know! My DVR’s kind of PITA – you can DVR 2 shows at once and you have to be watching one of them, which is normally fine. But then sometimes it makes you cancel one even if you’re watching the other. Grrr. So I just canceled them all b/c I know I can catch up on the repeats b/w Friday and Saturday….

And am LMAO – have you ever gone to Television Without Pity into the Celeb Rehab forum – they call that Dr. Drew face the sad panda face! Now go look at your DVR’d episode and tell me that’s not a perfect description – I yell it out while I’m watching – SAD PANDA FACE!

Of course, I often watch it alone, but I still crack myself up…

I saw Celebrity Rehab. Tom makes a run for it at the end of the show and can’t wait till next week to find out if he stays or goes.

    • Stephanie Tyler says:

The whole Tom / Heidi dynamic fascinates me, Jane! I hope he stays…my god, he needs to stay. They all need to like live with Dr Drew forever…

  4. Rebecca says:

That is an absolutely gorgeous cake!! My best friend loves Dia De Los Muertos type stuff, I’m going to have to send her over here to look at it.

    Thanks for posting the picture!

My friend’s just starting out in this business – she was an art major and decided to go to school to become a pastry chef. She’s so freakin’ talented I can’t stand it.

That cake is amazing! We gave up cable last year so I’m waiting till the 3rd season of Burn Notice comes out on video then I’m snagging it. I’m in Michael Westen withdrawals.

    • Stephanie Tyler says:

      Hi Katie -

Oh, I’m kind of jealous you get to watch all of BN 3 at once. I loved doing that with season 1 of Sons of Anarchy – it’s all instant gratification!

Burn Notice was really good last season – you’ll really like it!

  6. Tori Lennox says:

Hmm. I obviously need to eat more cake… my book is being a PITA.

  7. Dru says:

    Nice cake.

The snowstorm that wasn’t gave us an inch or two while areas around us got pounded.

    • Stephanie Tyler says:

Dru, we got nothing here! But now I’m hearing reports that tomorrow night’s storm is not going to miss us…

  8. reese says:

awesome cake. we’ve been digging for about a week. 26 inches fri-sat and another 15 yesterday. *sigh* we havent had this much in 10 years.

    • Stephanie Tyler says:

Ugh, Reese, that’s exhausting….we’ve been really lucky here. We got a bit over a foot here but we never got the blizzard they predicted…
