"[Tyler's] straight forward, dead-on writing style invites us to get hot and happy and bowled over by love right along with Carly and Hunt. Which makes being there when they do come undone one of the best things about the novel — next to just how great a romance it is." -Michelle Buonofiglio, Romance: Buy The Book

“On a similar note, while you're free to think whatever you like about my life and death, if you think I wasted my life, I'll tell you you're wrong. We're all going to die of something. I died doing a job I loved. When your time comes, I hope you are as fortunate as I was.”
-Andrew Olmsted, US Solider, killed in Iraq on January 3rd, 2008 – words from his final blog, written to be put up in the event of his death. (www.andrewolmsted.com

“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more.”
– Erica Jong

things I’ve recently discovered

1. The Petco near me smells like a petting zoo…and considering it’s not really a pet store (they have some birds and hamsters) the disgusting old petting zoo smell should not slap you in the face the second you open the door. And you know me and my sense of smell issues. Which brings me to…

2. The Bed Bath and Beyond near me REALLY should not have a giant, floor to ceiling display of SCENTED candles out. For me, that’s like assault with a deadly weapon, and I spent the entire shopping experience with my shirt collar pulled up over my nose mumbling about how the smell was killing me. I would’ve left except I really needed hangers and a waste paper basket. Really. And a baking pan. And spoons. It’s one of those stores that you don’t realize how many things you really need until you’re in it. Except, of course, for the scented candles.

3. I cannot find Gus’s current brand of dogfood anywhere. Except on Amazon, of course, where the shipping costs more than the food, so no, not going there. Must figure something out quickly. Like, before the dog actually arrives in my house.

Okay, on the writing front, I’m working on revisions for Too Hot To Hold, which is Nick’s book as well as working on a proposal for Hold On Tight, which is Chris’s book. Jake’s book has been revised and is waiting to see how the other books turn out in case I need to make some changes. As of now, it looks like these books will come out all in a row -right now it’s either Jan/Feb/March 2009 or Feb/March/April 2009, but I’ll let you know for sure as soon as I do.

Oh, and I’ve gotten my first, when are you going to write a real book, question! I truly feel like a real live romance author now. I also felt like strangling the person, but I was quite controlled, if I do say so myself.

And how sad is Heath Ledger’s death?! What a tragic loss all around.

YAY on the release dates fro Jake and Co. It’ll be awesome to have all three books in a row. I think I’ll buy them, but not read any until I have all three..so I can read all three in a row..as in a day or two. :P

  2. Jane Says:

Can’t wait for your “Hold” series. At least I don’t have to wait long for your March releases. I saw all the commotion in Soho after Heath died. His daughter is just two.

  3. Tori Lennox Says:

So sad about Heath Ledger. :(

Re being asked about writing a “real” book, how’d you manage to restrain yourself? I’m not sure I could do it.

And all those love SEALs to look forward to! *swoon*

  4. Amie Stuart Says:

    I’m so SAD about Heath!!!

Congrats on the back to back releases!

  5. Jaq Says:

That’s fantastic having back to back to back releases! It seems to me they only do that for authors they really want to promote!

  6. Steph T. Says:

LOL Sasha…I feel like I’ve been talking about these guys forever…well, because I have. It’s weird to actually be in the process of ‘finishing’ them.

Oh, thanks, Jane - and I hope you enjoy the March releases!!! And speaking of Heath, did you see the picture of the cement with matilda’s footptrint outside their Brooklyn home? Someone put flowers there…it about broke my heart…

Thanks, Cece and Jaq! I’m excited…in that scared sort of way. It could change, so I’m sort of just waiting it out and writing frantically…

  7. Steph T. Says:

Tori, I’m not really sure…I think I was just kind of stunned because it’s someone I consider a good friend…and the scariest part is, to her, it wasn’t an offensive question… :shoot:

    And yes, SEALs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait…

  8. Angie-la Says:

Ok…the smell thing? Every time we go into the Circuit City it smells like unwashed bodies.
Like I told the husband…it’s all those computer and gaming freaks that hang out there.
Ah! I love the smell of geek in the morning!

We went to the vets office with the best friend last week to pick up the special dog food her pug with allergies has to have. $50 for an 18 pound bag. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Mine eat Pedigree. $15 bucks a bag. They love it!

  9. Steph T. Says:

I’ll be sure to wear a mask next time I go into Circuit City.

And yeah, the breeder is using Purina Pro Puppy Plan…it’s not like it’s some special food. Sheesh. Can’t find it anywhere…
