As for training, well, first year will be basic obeidence stuff, although since Lily doesn't have many words Gus will learn to respond to hand signals as well as the words (heel, sit, etc)...after he's a year we can start with the assistance training/therapy training, which is pretty specialized - dogs learn to be the owners eyes, ears and hands, so to speak. At this point, which I'll talk about in another post, we're looking for Gus to be a seizure alert dog for her - that's my biggest goal right now. It was a good guess! When we first got that picture, it was way too soon for them to pick which pups went where, so we had no clue... Gus is beautimous. I think weimaraners are the most lovable big dogs next to a dalmatian. I have a soft spot for dals. Mine was 12 years old when we lost her 2 years ago. Fancy thought she was a lap dog. She used to sleep with our dachshunds..I think she thought she was one. :wink:
