planning vacations
We’re planning another vacation to Jamaica - same group that went last year (4 couples and my kid) and we had a whole discussion as to, do we stay in the same villa we had last year or not.
It had a few problems - one of the ACs was broken, one of the little minigolf cart cars didn’t work, and the internet on the entire island was like, broken.
This last one only seemed to affect me. Strangely enough, there are people who survive weeks at a time with no email or blog surfing. And apparently I go on vacation with all of them.
Anyway, so there’s been email correspondance back and forth between us and the staff. We got a report that all the problems in that villa had been taken care of. So great. But then they ended the email with, but since you had all those problems in villa 55, perhaps you’d rather stay in another villa…
So basically, we’ve fixed all the problems in villa 55, but perhaps you’d rather take your chances on another villa and an entirely new set of problems…
*sighs* I know the internet on the entire island is still broken. But still, I’m all for the devil you know…

I think it also helps to mention that “some” of these people who also think its ok to respond to adds on craigslist!!
I plan on attending the annual trip to jamaica this year if I can get off work. Although, I refuse to go if I cannot access the internet AND if the bug situation is still not under control.

I am not jumping drunk guy in photo.
I have made that jump, both drunk and sober, but that I took that photo from the water, with one of those “Instamatic 110″ cameras in a plastic shell, the original cheap waterproof camera. (”Cheap” as in $100 money back then)
It’s about a 45 foot drop, and they have higher ledges, but that one is the one everyone uses. It was always fun with guys trying to get women to jump, like convincing a girl to do a foolish thing was some sort of accomplishment…
