sharing
The thing I like most about writer’s blogs is the fact that writers will share pretty much everything about their publishing journey - the ups and the downs, the entire process. I tend not to share, for no other reason than I’m very superstitious about sharing. Of course, the superstition goes something like this - if I share any good news, it will disappear. (FYI - if you share good news, nothing bad will happen to it.) And with the bad news…well, the faster I can forget about it, the better. 
I know it doesn’t make much sense. It’s a thing with me. But, in the spirit of resolutions (early, I know) I’m going to share more. Because if I don’t, you’re all going to think I just sit around all day and whine about my house contruction. Which, of course, I do a lot of, so you wouldn’t be completely off base.
So, here goes. First, back in August, I signed with a wonderful agent - Roberta Brown. She’s amazing, supportive and knows her stuff, and I feel extremely lucky to have found such a good match. And second, I recently got a revision request for the Blaze I sent out back in August, and I’ve been working on it like crazy. So, if you’ve got any extra good karma vibes, please throw them in the general direction of the revised manuscript that’s currently making its way back to Harlequin. 
*looks left, then right, and waits for the good news to vanish*

First–congrats on the agent, AND the great news about the revision request!! I’ve heard a lot about Roberta.

Do I share? Yeah. Probably too bloody much. But I’m not superstitious about it. Nope. Not me.
News? Nope. But I’m waiting, and live in hope. Spend waaaay too much time waiting…

Congrats, Steph! Lots of good stuff going your way.
I kinda/sorta share. I’ll mention rejections in a general manner, and I mentioned my agent in a general manner when I finally signed. I used to talk more freely on my blog, but then I had an agent leave me a comment that editors/agents googled us and didn’t like to see specifics about rejections, etc.
It kinda made me paranoid.

That’s big news and you should have shared it sooner!! YAY for you!!
As for me. I tend to have those same feelings of if I say it, it’ll vanish. I like to have the very solidly set in place happenings before I tell anything. That’s why I haven’t blogged about why I’ve been so busy lately.:lol:

Whoo Hooo Steph!! Roberta Rocks and I know she’ll do good by you. Of course, I’ve also read some of your stuff, so I know you’d do good anyway!
As for sharing. I understand how you feel. I feel that way about some things, other things I’m ready to shout from the rooftops.

Good news? I guess I share what I have–that I’ve given myself permission to write crap to get it out of my head and onto electrons. And that, sometimes, when I re-read it, there’s a glimmer of brilliance among the sludge. I have two complete and two half novels to wade through the sludge to mine the brilliance from. That’s the good news.

Congrats on the agent and the rev request! I like it when writers share what’s going on (both the good and the bad). It helps those of us struggling know that we aren’t alone - and gives us some hope too.
I really don’t have much to share - yet - but when I do, I’m sure I will.
