Don’t you think it’s logical that if a floor stain color is called American Rustic that I would immediately begin picturing log cabins and prairies and, well, things that are all…rustic-ish?
The husband and the contractor told me I’m letting the name throw me. And they might be right (but they will never hear that statement come out of my mouth) and yes, if the color was named, beautiful glossy brown that Steph will love, I might not have woken up in a cold sweat this morning thinking, I made a mistake in picking the floor coloring.
The contractor said it was his favorite color of the 8 he put down for us. I was comforted for a few seconds until I realized 2 things:
1. He’s married, therefore, has learned to say what women want to hear without a second’s hesitation.
2. He’s a contractor who deals with female customers all day long, and has learned to say what women want to hear without a second’s hesitation.
I’m going to go look at it in a few minutes, and I’m hoping the first thing I think isn’t, Laura Ingalls Wilder would be very happy living here. I mean, nothing against her, or log cabins, but it wasn’t the look I’m going for.
Is it December 9th yet? (Lie to me - I don’t care…)

LOL I think you’re right. Whoever it is who sits there thinking up color names has a serious agenda. Hope you still like it!

I hope the color works out. I’ve never understood where they got color names.

No, Steph, it’s not December 9th.
Actually, it’s December 26th.
You’ve got the wrong floor coloring AND you’ve missed Christmas.
Where’s my present??

Amy & Danica - I think it would be a good job for writers *g* And thankfully I do like it, even though the husband keeps mentioning Laura Ingalls Wilder.
As for Miz Raine - I’d love to sleep through Christmas, although if I tried crazylarissachristmas would wake me up and try and make me all cheery. As for your present, fellow Aries, I’ll scare us up another horror-scope.

I’ve got one of those thingies from a paint store with all these paint chips & their names. Some of them are truly bizarre. Like the one called Cross Creek. Now isn’t THAT descriptive? Not! It’s a pale green, btw.

It’s very random, Tori. And the paint chips don’t look anything like the paint itself.
