Like there’s some magical spirit (or editor) who’s going to come along after me, pick up the ms and say, oh, this is what she needs me to do. Of course I can fix this…

Well of COURSE there are!
They’re the FILL-IN BROWNIES.

They come at night, while you’re sound asleep. And if you’ve been a very good little author, and never, ever question their existence, they sprinkle magic fill-in dust over your incomplete mss–et voila! So don’t bother about those mss. Just leave ‘em, even if it takes years…the Brownies will come!
But you must never, ever doubt. Tell yourself–”I believe…I believe…”
