I just spoke with her – she’s safe – had to evacuate farther than she’d anticipated, but she and her son avoided the worst of it. Her husband’s okay too, but he’s on the boat and not with them right now.
Her house? Not so much. She’s heard from neighbors that it’s pretty much underwater right now. Her area’s going to take a very long time to get on its feet again. She won’t even be able to make it back there to assess the damage for another few weeks, since most of the highways are flooded and not safe for travel. She’s not sure when she’ll actually be living at home again.
I feel so bad for her. She’s keeping it together, making plans, but, as her crit partners, Alison, Emma and I will be planning something to help her and her family out. I’ll let you know when we’ve got more details.

Damn. I’m sorry to hear that. I know Katrina could have been worse, but she was still quite a bitch.
Larissa, if you drop in here, know you’re in our thoughts! So glad you’re safe, but the rest…ugh. :sigh:
Awwwww man on the house!
I’m glad she’s okay though and thanks for the update!
Thanks for letting us know. I’d read about her being in the area on several blogs, so it is good to hear she is safe. Not so good to hear about her house. Keep us up to date on anything that is done to help.
Thanks for the news update. If I can help out, let me know.

I’m so glad she’s safe, but my heart hurts about her house. Let us know how we can help.
Thanks, guys! I know she appreciates all your concern. We’re going to try to put up something today about ways to help her and her family out…
Thanks for keeping us updated, Steph.
And please, let us all know how we can help.
Thanks for the update! I’m glad her and her family are doing ok. I’ll be checking back for updates on what you guys come up with to help out.
Thanks for the update Steph! Poor Larissa, but I’m so glad she evacuated. I’ll check back to see what I can do to help.
