“On a similar note, while you're free to think whatever you like about my life and death, if you think I wasted my life, I'll tell you you're wrong. We're all going to die of something. I died doing a job I loved. When your time comes, I hope you are as fortunate as I was.”

“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more.”

world + record + grouper

(grouper searchers can scroll down to end of post — the rest of you must troll through my musings *g*)

Horoscope for ARIES: Still feeling lucky? You should, because luck is still on your side. That includes meeting just the right person at just the right time to help you get whatever you need. All you have to do is show up.

Dear Editor:
I am here: X

My CP Katie didn’t need luck on her side because her awesome story is a Laurie finalist! Yeah for Katie — go congratulate her (and tell her to blog more often ;)

Today’s my first post over at Romancing The Blog. Go say hi to me so I don’t feel lonely over there - I’m hyperventilating a little, but at least I got the thing to post at the right time.

Oh — and the grouper thing? I’ve noticed that there have been a lot of searches in the past few days for World Record Grouper bringing people to my blog(this is still only a potential world record, I think - and it’s the husband’s cousin in Tazania where he lives/works as a sport fisherman), and since the picture I’d posted is buried way in the archives and I don’t have individual links or anything, I’m going to throw the picture up again for easy access. I know a lot of you already saw it, but there must be some kind of grouper-fest going on:

    1. That’s a big-ass fish.

    2. Yay Katie!!!

    3. Your post at RTB is AWESOME!

    4. Astrologists should be shot.

  2. lady Says:

The other blog looks very nice, that is one big fish! Congrats to your friend.

  3. Jennifer Says:

WOW - some fish! It looks fake, somehow, lol. You expect something that big to be streamlined, I dunno - more marlin or shark. That just looks like an overgrown goldfish.
Like - what did they Feed that thing?

  4. Jaq Says:

That’s not photo-shopped? That is one big assed (gilled, mouthed, gg) fish.

I think I popped by Katie’s blog by way of Linda Winfree’s. I think. I do way too much blog hopping. In any case, major congrats to her.

  5. Sasha Says:

That is one HUGE fish!! I’m still amazed when I see it.

  6. Margee Says:

My dh says if the grouper isn’t over 500 pounds, it isn’t a world record, so he verifies that it isn’t photoshopped *g*.

  7. Steph T. Says:

LOL - someone had commented on the earlier post that the fish looked prehistoric *g*

And I had to look up photoshop - I guess my status as technical computer genius is wavering.

Here’s the link to the story - I had to google it myself to check the weight since I couldn’t remember:
    http://www.americaasyoulikeit.com/fishing/record-grouper.htm

Margee - I think it’s just under 400 lbs - we haven’t heard anything more about the world record stuff yet…(I believe it was a continent record though *g*)

I’d be satisfied with just pulling the thing up from the bottom.

  8. Amy Says:

WHAT in the name of god would anyone DO with a fish that size??? Eeewwww!

    Congrats to Katie. :)

  9. Katie Says:

Ditto what Larissa said…lol…er, for number two, that would be THANKS! As for the fish, I think someone needs to stuff that sucker and mount it in their living room. Of course then you’d have to buy a bigger house just for the fish…

And thanks again for the Laurie congrats!

And what do you mean, blog more often? I’m in revision hell…yes still…but down to the last 73 pages. Finally. And my agent wants me to email it to her …like tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Gulp.

  10. Lynn Says:

    Dadgumm…that’s one big fish!

  11. Suzanne Says:

Is that a fish or something from a horror movie?? LOL.
