Either you aren't as "stuck" as I am, or your youth was not nearly as long ago as mine. The Three Dog Night song is the only one that would make *my* list, which would start with:

Eleanor Rigsby/Beatles

Sounds of Silence/Simon and Garfunkel

Another Def Lepard fan! YAY!! I LOVE their Vault album...it's a perfect mix of metal and love songs. Boy, I sure do miss the 80's crazy music. 70's and 80's ROCK. 90's and forward just can't compare. It's almost tragic. Have fun with your list, Steph, AND your love scene :)

LOL Margee - I love the Beatles too, although I tend to like more of their 'hippie' phase stuff. I think I could've followed the Dead around for a while in their heyday. *g*

Sasha, I'm going to look up those songs.

Katie, I'm going to have fun with my scene now and YOU'RE going to be the one who's tortured by it later *giggles*

Suzanne - Mama TOLD ME not to come!!!!

I'm loving these lists. Your list and Suzanne's hold a lot of my favourites. Another couple of favourites that come to mind is 'Lowrider' (can't remember who sang it), 'Stuck in the Middle with You', and there's this song that has the lines: 'She put de lime in the coconut and drink it all up' lol. Loved that one. ANYTHING by Bob Seager Rocks!!! I'm all over the place with musical tastes -- slow songs, jazz, rock, RnB, hip hop, classical, it really comes down to the individual song.

Jaq - I love Stuck in the Middle - and that lime song is on my Practical Magic CD, which I listen to all the time. The husband loves Bob Seager.

I'm not recognizing Lowrider...sing a few bars for me, will ya?
