Let him howl, baby! Sorry, must be the love scene I'm FINALLY finishing. Good luck in the GE. My CP is nagging me to enter, but . . . not right now. Trying to get the full out the door and finish the current WIP.

Or maybe I'll just have to send in the SEALs to nag you for me...

LOL feeling like a wolf works too..I get feedback like you Steph.....I love it (85% WTF?)....and I have one of those voices contest judges love or hate.

I talked to Sasha and Sylvia today and I realized something. The most fun I had writing a ms. is the one I said I'm gonna write whatever I want (IT was CDC btw) and screw the rules. Now, needless to say, I ended up editing (that old marketable rule reared it's ugly head) but it's still one of my fave stories. And it's all over the board in contests. I told Sasha today that the first contest I entered it in (The GE) I bawled when I got my results.

And why is it they always have the editors I want in the categories I shouldn't enter --like single title. Yes, you heard me right. I do much better in mainstream than ST. And I'll be one of the first round judges in mainstream for the Yellow Rose because I don't like the score sheet (it's my chapter) and I figure at least that's one chick lit friendly/open minded judge. Did I say that out loud....I'm rambling LOL

We can wait together, Cece! I just really went with one of those powerful gut feelings on this -who knows if it will pan out, but I tend to live by those. It's actually the first time I looked at a contest with a business minded purpose in terms of editors. What the heck, right? It'll give me something to blog about, at least - LOL.

And the contest thing seems to be working well for you! Good stuff for the query letters *g*

Steph, you know a contest win got me my full request with Shannon for AIT. I get scores like you, too. I received a 98 out of 100 and then a 50. Okay, that is something to be upset about. I entered The Gotcha again this year with Saving Grace. I'm hoping they like it as much as they did AIT.

Best of luck on your entry.

FWIW? My first sale came directly from the Great Expectations contest in 1993. So I have quite the fondness for that one!
