“On a similar note, while you're free to think whatever you like about my life and death, if you think I wasted my life, I'll tell you you're wrong. We're all going to die of something. I died doing a job I loved. When your time comes, I hope you are as fortunate as I was.”

“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more.”

a day for good news…

So much to tell…

First, our (mine and Zoo’s) best friends are moving back here!! I cannot give more specific details, since she has not informed her current employer, who is not going to be happy (she’s a corporate bigwig, as her mom says ) But we’re so happy because we missed them terribly. Now my husband will have his buddy back to get into trouble with - I see much more poison ivy in his future…

Second, my wonderful friend/crit partner, Katie Bryan, just signed with an agent!! A wonderful agent who has huge plans for her. I’m so proud of her (even though she does not read my blog with any regularity - uses some lame excuse that she’s busy writing or something *hrmph*) And then she told me I must tell you that I signed with an agent last month. Why did I neglect to mention it here? Because I’m always scared that if I say it out loud, it will all go away. *looks nervously over shoulder to make sure agent is actually still there* I told you I was superstitious.

And the third piece of good news is that the operation my daughter needs finally received FDA approval yesterday - which means that insurance shouldn’t give us such a huge problem now.

So, for today my writing output is zilch, but I’m smiling. Good karma to all…

Steph T.

Hi Steph: Wonderful news about FDA approval for Lily’s upcoming surgery. I occasionally look at your website; did so tonight and found the info on Lily. I will keep looking at your BLOG (new word for me) and try to keep up with what’s going on. I know how extremely busy you must be. But do know that we are all interested in you, Zoo, Lily, and your writing.

    Love, Sue and Joe

  2. Sylvia Day Says:

Oh, Steph!!! Congrats on the agent news!!! You lucky girl. I know what you mean though, some things are so good you’re afraid to say them out loud. I’m thrilled about the FDA news! Keep us posted.

I’m very happy for you. :)

  3. Sasha Says:

    You didn’t tell us!!!
    LOL
    That’s ok…I’m sorta superstitious too. ;)

Great news about the FDA approval!!

And your cp’s agent as well…

Wow! You had a good day! :)

  4. Larissa Says:

Oh, yay on all the news!!!! I’m so happy for you and your daughter and Katie!!!!!

  5. Steph T. Says:

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes!! It’s nice to have a day like that every once in a while (she says, showing the gods of superstition that she is not greedy and thereby appeasing them with her appropriate humbleness)
